The BTOSC Late Summer BBQ is an annual event traditionally held over a weekend and often involving 3 to 4 yachts. We gather in Hamble on the Friday evening. We either have an evening/ night sail to Cowes for example, have a pub meal together in the Ketch Rigger or eat on board.
On the Saturday we often have an competitive element between yachts such as a buoys challenge or quiz. The BBQ has most recently been held in Yarmouth and Lymington on the Saturday evening.
On the Sunday, we have another sail, anchor for lunch and return to the Hamble before dark.
In 2019 one crew opted for extra sailing time and visited Langstone Harbour, Beaulieu River and Newtown Creek as well as Lymington for the BBQ itself. Other photos below from the archives.
