Life on Board

The yachts we use are well equipped and generally fairly new. Accommodation typically comprises two stern cabins and a forward cabin as well as berths in the Saloon. There are lockers situated around the yacht for personal effects though valuables will necessarily remain the responsibility of their owner. The saloon contains seating around a central table together with a galley/sink and Chart Table. Lastly each yacht also has at least one ‘heads’ with hot shower and a marine toilet.

Our Skippers all hold RYA Yachtmaster Offshore or Yachtmaster Coastal Certificates of Competence issued by the RYA/MCA.

Each skipper will conduct a safety brief for crew members before departure from the marina.  This briefing should cover safety hazards below deck and on deck and safety precautions that need to be taken.

Club events in the summer may involve setting sail on the Friday evening when crews would need to meet at the Marina around 17:00-18:00 hrs. In the winter months, we would normally set sail on the Saturday morning by 09:00 but we still usually meet on Friday evening.

Check with your skipper if you are unsure about anything.
