Sat 23 March or Sun 24 Mar 2013

NB: The RYA are currently reviewing delivery of this training which is likely to be ‘enhanced’ to a 2 day course at the end of this year – this will also make it a lot more expensive so book now to get best value.

The Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the radio operator qualification, which authorises the holder to operate a VHF radio telephone fitted with Digital Selective Calling (DSC) on board any vessel, which is fitted with that equipment. The Marine Radio Short Range Certificate is a pre-requisite for higher qualification such as the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate.   If you own a marine radio (hand held or fixed) you are required by law to hold an operators licence.

This is a one day course run by qualified RYA Instructors and will be held in the Training Room on the first floor of Portchester Sailing Club with appropriate simulator equipment available.

Price:   £50 per person

There is an additional charge of £30 (cheque payable to the RYA) for the certificate fee – you will also need a passport sized photograph for the certificate to be issued.  Please bring these with you to the course.

Booking:  To book a place on this course complete a  Porchester Sailing Club Shorebased Course Booking Form and return it with a cheque for £50 (payable to PSC) and post to the Course Co-ordinator, 7 The Causeway, Fareham PO16 8RN. NOTE Bookings will only be confirmed with full payment.   Please note that you will not need to become a member of Porchester Sailing club or take out temporary membership for this one day course.
